The Atlas of Dissection and Surgical Anatomy of the Wrist and Hand is a practical guide with a solid theoretical basis of anatomo-functional knowledge. Complete with more than 230 high-quality images, this text features a clinical-surgical relationship aimed at those interested in the study of this complex area of the human body, especially orthopaedic or plastic surgeons in training.
The different anatomical structures of the wrist, hand, and fingers are presented in a systematic and orderly manner, describing the anatomo-surgical dissection techniques step by step and exposing the largest number of elements with their morphological references and most important characteristics.
For didactic purposes, images of prosections and illustrative anatomical sections have been added for the understanding of specific aspects; likewise, the joints with the main ligaments and their relationships are shown.
The dissections and most of the preparations have been performed on fresh, unpreserved cadaver limbs to show the anatomy as close to reality as possible. The injection of colored latex in the arterial, radial, and ulnar trunks highlights the vessels up to the arteriolar level, facilitating and making their study of such relevance in hand surgery more exciting.
The Atlas is a very useful work for medical residents in training in the specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, and traumatology, as well as for professionals in these specialties who wish to improve their techniques.
Originally published in Spanish, this newly translated text will bring a wealth of knowledge to English-speaking surgeons for generations to come.
