A. Lee Osterman Excellence in Education Award

This award is funded by the Osterman Fund, a 25th AFSH Anniversary Campaign Fund through the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand.  Approved in October 2013.

The goal of this award is to annually recognize an ASSH member who has dedicated his or her career to the advancement of hand surgery education.  The worthy candidate will have demonstrated excellence in educating students, residents, and fellows as well as other hand surgeons.  The award recipient will organize and present an Instructional Course at the 2017 ASSH Annual Meeting, over September 7-9 in San Francisco, CA on a topic of his or her choice and will receive an honorarium of $5,000.  The recipient will repeat this presentation at the 2018 Philadelphia Hand Center meeting (dates TBD).
