Bolivia: Day 10

Although only three cases were scheduled for the day, two of them posed to be the longest, most challenging cases of the trip. Here you see a skin graft taken from a young man's thigh to be used to cover a flap in his 1st web space.

Here is another case involving extensor tendon transfers. Before closing, the patient was asked to extend his fingers to gauge the tension of the transfers.

Here we have the anesthesiologists preparing a patient just before his surgery.

The hand surgeons proudly wear their Stanford caps. They have scrubbed in together on each case and are getting through long OR days with a smile.
