OMeGA Review Committee Accepting Applications through September 19, 2016

OMeGA Medical Grants Association is currently seeking applications for 2017 Review Committee member positions. Committee members evaluate graduate medical education program applications using OMeGA’s merit-based process. For AOA members, this commitment can be a stepping stone to becoming an OMeGA Board member. 


  • Applicant and immediate family members have no "financial interest" in any orthopaedic medical device manufacturer, pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. "Financial interest" is defined as ownership or personal compensation arrangements such as employment, consulting, speaking, or development relationships. Ownership of less than 5% in publicly traded securities and mutual funds in an orthopaedic medical device manufacturer, pharmaceutical and biotechnology company will not be considered a "financial interest."
  • Applicant will disclose all leadership roles in orthopaedic fellowship or residency programs and educational institutions that may apply for a grant, recusing him/herself from consideration of grant applications made by institutions with which he or she is currently or has been associated in the last two years. "Leadership role" is defined to include a department chair or other position that involves financial decision making within the orthopaedic department of an institution, currently or in the previous two years.
  • Applicant will not participate in reportable payment activities as detailed in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Fact Sheet for Physician Open Payments.
  • Applicant will disclose any other financial or other personal considerations that may compromise, or may have the appearance of compromising, the individual's ability to serve as an objective evaluator of graduate medical education programs.

Leadership and vision for the future must be coupled with the ability to review applications to support OMeGA’s merit-based process.
