Course Overview:

This precourse is a comprehensive review of the history of flexor tendon surgery, physiology and surgical techniques. Special emphasis is given to detailed anatomy and mechanics of the flexor tendon mechanism. This precourse also serves as a forum for new horizons, techniques and concepts in rehabilitation, surgery and research into the vexing problem of flexor tendon repair.

 

Objectives:
  • To receive a historical review of surgery and rehabilitation
  • To understand anatomy of the flexor tendon mechanism and review pertinent physiology in the healing process
  • To re-evaluate current and future surgical techniques and rehabilitation protocols, while generating an interactive environment
