Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release System
The Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release System (ECTRS) offers the surgeon a predictable and user friendly way to perform carpal tunnel release procedures. It is comprised of a miniature endoscope consisting of a handpiece and a monitor all of which can be placed within the sterile surgical field. The handpiece holds a disposable uniquely shaped cannula containing a camera, light source, and a blade assembly. The monitor can be used in the surgical field with a sterilizable monitor enclosure. The monitor contains rechargeable batteries. The surgeon introduces the Mini Endo ECTRS cannula into the carpal tunnel via a limited incision in the wrist flexor crease. Viewing the transverse carpal ligament (flexor retinaculum) through the camera at the tip of the cannula, the surgeon reaches the distal end of the carpal ligament and elevates the blade to cut the ligament as the instrument is moved distal to proximal.
