Video Theater Policy & Procedures
Abstract Submission/Edit Deadline: April 26, 2010
A Video Theater submission is a 15-30 minute video of anatomy, diagnosis or surgical/therapy technique. Videos should provide an overview of the subject with a discussion of relevant literature as well as illustrative imaging of high quality. Past videos have included biomechanics of hand movement, evaluation of sensation, and toe-to-hand transfer for thumb reconstruction. Accepted videos will be displayed during the 2010 ASSH Annual Meeting will be also reviewed by the Products and Publications Advisory Committee (PPAC) for possible reproduction in the ASSH Procedural DVD Library. Reproduction in the DVD library is highly selective, based on complementary topics and anticipated product demand.
- ABSTRACT CONTENT
- Written abstracts (maximum of 400 words) describing the content of the video and its relevance to the field of hand surgery must be submitted online through the abstract submission system.
- Presentation of a specific technique should be balanced with a discussion of other options for treatment.
- ASSH requires that all video authors provide a financial disclosure statement. All financial interests in the product or process involved with the research must be properly identified. This includes stock ownership, membership on an advisory board or board of directors, corporate sponsored research, or any other substantive relationship. A disclosure statement will be collected from each author listed on the abstract. There are no author limits for the Video Theater abstract
VIDEO CONTENT
Presentation consideration is based entirely on the content received in your written abstract. Once accepted for presentation at the Annual Meeting authors will be asked to submit their completed video to the ASSH.
