 Call for Symposia Abstracts

The deadline to submit has passed

If you have submitted a Symposia abstract, you will be notified in January of 2010 of your status.

A Symposium is the ideal presentation format to discuss important issues and emerging trends in the industry.  Symposia are presented periodically throughout the general sessions and should last no longer than 45 minutes (including time for a Q&A).  Debates, panel discussions and audience interaction work well for these sessions.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Download the Call for Symposia Abstracts for policies and procedures.
  • No more than 4 faculty members total should be contacted and confirmed as potential participants prior to submission of your abstract including the primary speaker/chair.
  • If you have presented a Symposium in the past you are required to re-submit your content for consideration to have your program repeated.
  • NOTE: EACH faculty member of a Symposium will be required to submit a handout.  One group handout may also be submitted in place of individual handouts.

ABSTRACT CONTENT
Symposia proposals should include a defining title, a single-sentence educational goal for presenting the symposium, and a brief marketing description of how the symposium is going to communicate its objectives in 45 minutes.  Symposium abstracts should also include a lineup of proposed talks and speakers.  Only speakers that have been contacted and agreed to participate should be listed in your proposal.
