Call for Poster-Only Presentation Abstracts
Deadline to submit: March 29, 2010
A Poster Presentation is the best format for presenting scientific material – either laboratory or clinical – where an active exchange between the author and the attendee is desired. Poster displays are the perfect medium for unusual or multiple clinical case presentations. The display should be prepared with photographs and laboratory information and encourage the exchange of findings and treatment results. Any aspect of hand care may be presented in a poster exhibit.
IMPORTANT: If you wish your abstract to be considered for either paper/podium or a Poster Display please submit your abstract under the Scientific Session (paper/poster) abstract activity. There will be an option to indicate your preference as “paper or poster.” Please DO NOT submit your abstract as a Paper and again under the Poster section. If you make the mistake in doing this please contact the ASSH at abstracts@assh.org and include your name and abstract number so the duplicate may be removed.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Download the Call for Poster-Only Abstracts for policies and procedures
- To create a clean and consistent Scientific Displays section onsite, all posters will be required to use the official ASSH poster design template. The template will be created by the Program Committees but all other expenses related to poster design, printing and shipping will be the responsibility of the presenter. More details will be provided at the time of abstract acceptance.
ABSTRACT CONTENT
Abstracts should be 400 words or less and must briefly state the hypothesis of the study, describe the materials/methods used, report the results, as well as the statistical treatment accorded the data and summarize the research findings. The summary should not be a traditional ‘discussion’ but rather a prioritized, bulleted statement that indicate the study’s significance, value and clinical relevance in relation to the existing knowledge on the topic. Abstracts may include up to two graphic attachments (i.e. tables, illustrations and pictures). A total of six authors (including the primary/presenting author) can be listed on any abstract. Submission must include Level of Evidence (1-5). Each abstract MUST include the following section labels within the abstract text: Hypothesis, Methods, Results, and Summary Points.
