The mission of the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand is to advance the care of hand and upper extremity disorders by supporting education and research through the efficient collection of donations and administration of grants.
The Trustees and Council recently approved an exciting change to the mission of the Foundation, one that builds on the strong programs we’ve supported over the last 25 years. The new mission captures the “three-legged stool” strategy to support research, education and outreach and is at the heart of our new capital campaign that will span the next four years.
The American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand will be recognized as the world’s premier source of financial support for upper extremity research and education. Hand care professionals, students, industry and the public will value and respect us for our unsurpassed support of education and scientific investigation, unquestionable integrity and fiscal responsibility.
Integrity is our most important asset. We will always adhere to the highest ethical principles while seeking new and innovative ways to raise capital for hand and upper extremity research and education. In partnership with the ASSH, we will administer resources responsibly and distribute funds with the utmost fairness and impartiality.
