Description:

This precourse will provide a state-of-the-art update on all aspects of elbow trauma and reconstruction.  An international faculty will participate in lectures and case discussions on fracture management and instability of the elbow.  Emphasis will be placed on presenting new techniques for treatment of traumatic injuries and elective reconstruction.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
  • Describe surgical approaches to the elbow for trauma and reconstruction.
  • Recognize pitfalls of surgical techniques and how to avoid them.
  • Compare modern techniques for treatment of fractures of the distal humerus, radial head, coronoid and ulna.
  • Evaluate different approaches for elbow arthroplasty for fracture.
  • Describe treatment options for elbow instability.
  • Determine steps for successful postoperative management of elbow trauma.
