Description

Tendon Repair and Reconstruction is a 1/2 day course designed to present current techniques and practice related to traumatic tendon repair, reconstruction and tendon transfer. The course has been designed to allow the participant to split time equally between the lectures and lab. The course is structured to present this information in a didactic format with short lectures given by recognized expert educators. Hands on practice in the state of the art cadaver lab will emphasize and reinforce the didactic information.
 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Outline the necessary techniques for repair of Zone one and Zone two flexor tendon repair.
  • Perform a Zone 1 and a Zone 2 flexor tendon repair using modern multistrand techniques.
  • Describe the common techniques of tendon transfer for irreparable defects of the median, radial and ulnar nerves.
  • Perform an opponensplasty using FDS, EIP, ADQ and PL.
  • Perform an adductorplasty.
  • Perform a tendon transfer to correct clawing.
