Explore the elegant lifestyles of Chicago‘s rich and famous! Hear the stories of how the newly rich made their fortunes and how the city of Chicago benefited from their vast wealth. This tour will begin at the magnificent St. James Episcopal Cathedral, built in 1870 by the upper class. Restored in its original decoration of the Arts and Craft Movement, it is maintained today for all to enjoy. Next stop will bring guests to the Driehaus Victorian Mansion Museum. This museum is a great example of the gilded age of the 1880s. This imposing ―marble palace was built in the Italian Renascence Revival style. Today, the house is furbished with the authentic antique collection of Richard Driehaus.
