Description:

This course will highlight the basic principles of pedicle and free flaps to the upper extremity for soft tissue reconstruction.  A combination of prosections, live “real time” dissection, videos and case examples will provide rich content as a review of time honored techniques that should be in the armamentarium of upper extremity surgeons.  An international faculty of experienced soft tissue surgeons will explain the design, indications and execution of techniques for elbow, forearm, hand and digit coverage.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand principles of regional and free flap design and harvest
  • Become familiar with the vascular anatomy of each flap and nuances of harvest
  • Understand applications and limitations of each flap
