Audience Level: Intermediate

Description:

This course not only describes common hand and wrist injuries in elite athletes, but it focuses on injury-specific timing of surgery and return to play. Speakers include surgeons in panel discussions, a trainer, a lawyer, and an agent. Decision making will be discussed at the professional, college, high school and recreational level.

Learning Objectives:

Assess common hand and wrist injuries in athletes.
Demonstrate an understanding of sport-specific issues affecting timing of surgery and return to play.
Demonstrate familiarity with contract negotiations and legal ramifications of treating the elite athlete.
